The Texas Rangers are making changes for the upcoming 2023 season, some of which may not be well received by fans. While the team’s rotation and bullpen look promising, there are other changes that won’t necessarily impact their performance on the field.
Texas Rangers Making Changes to Uniforms, Drawing Ire of Fans
In the past, the Rangers made minor alterations to their uniforms. This included adding a semi-cursive script reading “Rangers” to their all-white uniforms and reintroducing their beloved powder blue uniforms. However, due to Nike’s new regulations, the team is required to eliminate one of their jersey designs. Unfortunately, they have chosen to retire the fan-favorite red uniform tops with “Texas” written across the front. Although the Rangers did not see much success in the red uniforms, going 3-8, they were still popular among fans.
Fortunately, the team will continue to use their red caps, as there are no restrictions on the hats they wear. The Rangers’ most successful uniform combination from the previous season was the “throwbacks” or “City connects,” which featured the old Texas T on the caps and font on the front. The team had a record of 4-1 in these uniforms, with only five appearances.
Rangers switching to blue, grey, and white
For the 2023 season, the Rangers will be wearing blue, grey, and white tops, along with their powder blue uniforms. They will also unveil a new “city connect” uniform later in the season. Although some changes may be unpopular with fans, the Rangers are optimistic about their prospects for the upcoming season.
